"You may ask 'What does the Believe in Me' on the mirror have to do with the book. Well in my own personal life I do alot of praying and talking to God while putting my makeup on. During one of those sessions over the last 13 years of my life while talking to God about the direction I had chosen to take my life in. I felt strongly when asking Him 'what now Lord?' He gently impressed those words on my heart 'Believe in Me' not only to believe in Him to take care of all that I would ever need, but to also during this time to tell myself 'Believe in ME' meaning I had to also believe in MYSELF, that I would be capable of getting through any tough time that would come my way. He would not fail me if I would not fail myself. I have hung on to those words many times in the course of the last 13 years of my life. It has made me who I am today. And this book is because of that. Without believing in God and myself I would have never written my experience. It has opened up a whole new world for me. One I now know was deep within me all along just waiting to jump out! Today I am experiecing a happiness I never knew would be a part of my life. Not to say that I was not happy yesterday...because I was very happy within myself & my life yesterday. But when I look at all that I have accomplished and see in the future more of my life taking this direction. I would not change a breath and do it any other way. The bad has made be better, the weak times have made me stronger and the tough times have turned me inside out & upside down to become the balanced woman I am today. Yes I still have weaknesses and down times like all of you might, but I bounce back so much quicker than before. I have become more reslient to life. I am eager see what is next for me & where that takes me. I always did have a heart for adventure & my life has been just that! Blessings to all!"

For those of you who do not yet know and have not read the newsletter sent out last week, Gabbriella's Sampler will be off fo a short time. participants have backed away without notice so we can not go forward until those who wanted promotions can send in their samples. This is fine as life does happen. But in the mean time to keep up with life at the Sampler why not follow me over at Shame On Me Book Blog and see what is happening there! I alos have a site for the book where you can learn more also. I always have to keep busy. Join me there if you like. I will still post here from time to time to let you know the flow of things. I am at the present placing samples from the tiny amount of contributors I have left in my daily shipments out of the house so they still get noticed and promoted that way so if you are interested in that please send in your samples. when I ge a substancial amount of contributors again we will start the boxes again. Just as soon as I get the final copy of the cover illustration for my book off to the publisher it will go & very, very soon after it will be listed on Amazon.com for sale with all the other amazing books out there! I am so excited as I write this! It has been a very great 5 months which I had off work & decided to publish this book. Without this time off for surgery it would have never happened/ Well...that is just 1 reason I wrote the book. (I had the time available) Another reason is because of the choices the ex decided to make with our son & I. I guess in a way I really have him to thank. Because I have never felt so free of him in all my life until I put I had this down in print. It is a good feeling to be even more confident in myself than ever before. Well it is finally here...the day I return to work! After "5" long months off from work due to hand surgery. I miss the people but I sure could get used to not going to work everyday! It will be a bitter sweet to be back. 5 years & I can retire so that is what I keep reminding myself! Plus I do know already I need to have the other hand done so within the year there will be a bit more time off but hopefully this surgery will go much better than the last.

These branches were picked off the ground by my son after the snow storm that blasted us at the beginning of the month. Today I looked at them and the top picture shows one of the buds is going to open....do you know what this may be? We do that is why we decided to try to force all these glorious buds open as to not hault the glory that awaits us. At the last minute this month we have had several cancellations which promise to be in next months sampler which will be the special Mom's Day packaging. Sometimes this happens in the course of life we each have to face every day. So as a back up plan the Sampler still will go on this month....it did not allow me enough time since there were quite a few cancellations on the same day too late in the month to ask others to participate...We still have a few of Marsha's Herbal Eye pillows left to be included + I will open the doors to my handmade closet & my retail wall & be placing FULL size products in each sampler so as to not have you be disappointed. This months sampler will have a high dollar value but will still ship out at the standard pricing. This way you will remain happy & get to try full size products and & will be able to clear out my inventory so I can get some new & exciting products for the website. Today in the mail arrive a large box for the sampler! My frien Mickey of Eco Vintage Vegan & Crudeco of etsy has sent handcrafted boxes to be placed inside the sampler in March. They are wonderful as you can see from the picture above. The boxes are made from Time magazine covers and are reusable. Each is extremely sturdy & well crafted. She also included a gift for me of a lovely pouch. Different from the picture above as I have not had time yet to photograph it. You can visit her shops to see her awesome items she makes. She also makes lovely jewelry from natural stones. Mickey believes in recycling but you would never know some of her products were once something else. Traditional ecovintagevegan handmade gift box flair and our reflective history in pictures. Torn from the pages of a "Life Magazine" hard back collection book, these images date from 1937 through 1977. From Ann Frank through Mark Spitz and The Rolling Stones, every event, tragedy and celebration in between.

Some painful images were excluded from the folds and some images were considered too precious to exclude.

Boxes were doubled with print pages for added strength, images reflect our history and our celebration of life. Tops and bottoms do not match. Boxes are in color and black and white.

Measure: 3 1/4" wide, 1 3/4" tall and 5" corner to corner. Starting with a squared 9 3/4" page, the inside hand cut center insert compliments the entire theme of the box.

Only 5 more Herbal Eye Pillows left to be in the Original Size Sampler this month! These have really been a hit! I do hope those of you who have used them have taken the time to convo Marsha at her Etsy shop and tell her your thoughts on them. While you are there check out her other unique items for your aching body. As you all may know I had hand surgery to remove a bone & some carpal tunnel work done in October. I am still recovering and this weekend with the weather I was in excrutiating pain from time to time. I took an eye pillow & heated it up in the micro like the instructions said and wrapped it around my hand. The warmth made it feel oh so great! These samples were so very generous of Marsha to send us & I truly do appreciate her for doing so. All herbs included in the pillows are organically grown by Marsha herself. I know the work involved in this as my sweet Mom & I used to do this & I miss having her show up at my door with a boquet of fresh lavander and upon my visites to her home she would take me in her back room to show me all the wonderful herbs she was drying for my crafting. Snowed in!

This is the glorious site I awoke to at 6am this morning!!! Looks like more than 4-6 inches which they called for. Also awoke to no electric, no cable, no tv, no heat, NO COFFEE, NO TOAST & HOT CEREAL! So kitty & I went back up to bed under all blankets I could find and slept for a couple hours. Then woke up colder & brought blankets downstairs along with a good book (now it was daylight & I could see to read) got all comfy reading and around 10am rejoiced because the furnace began running! I am so thankful it did not last till we dig ourselves out of this....main road my home is on still is not plowed...but I do not plan to go anywhere all weekend....I keep thanking the Lord and praying the power stays on..... So how has your morning went?

BARBIE'S Review on the HUGE Sample of Eye Pillows!

I just have to say that I am in love with the herbal eye pillows! Rarely do I get headaches, and I usually take ibuprophen for them.......I don't have to anymore! I was waiting to get a headache so I could try the eye pillow. I didn't think it would be fair to try it just to relax (although I did use it when relaxing!), so when I got one of my rare headaches, I took it out of the freezer and laid down with it covering my eyes. Within 10 minutes, my headache felt significantly better to the point that I didn't have to take any over the counter ibuprophen for it. Two days later, I tried it fresh from the microwave oven and it worked equally as well. The instructions are that it should be kept in the freezer to preserve the herbs and can be used cold form the freezer or microwaved for 30 seconds. I think I would use it in the winter from the microwave and in the summer from the freezer! The scent of lavender is very calming and soothing and the heat or coldness from the pillow is wonderful. To say that I am a fan of the Herbal Eye Pillow is an understatement!

Any soap you buy -- whether it's handmade like mine, or purchased from the grocery store -- is made much the same way: A chemical reaction between lye and oils. This produces soap: a salt-based detergent (the part that cleans), and glycerine (the part that moisturizes).

Now the part the grocery store won't tell you: Those big commercial soapmakers take out most of the glycerine before the let the soap harden into bars. Yup, that means most of the moisturizing stuff has been removed! Then they make it into lotions and sell it right back to you.

Sounds like a scam? I don't like it much. That's why I leave all the glycerine in the soap I make (I wouldn't know how to take it out anyway!). So my soap cleans _and_ moisturizes your skin -- exactly what it needs! People always ask again & again if Kate is going to be in our sampler each month....so now is your chance to try first hand her products to see for yourself! Tell her Gabby sent you!

Gabbriella’s Sampler

“I want to be in the Sampler…what do I need to do?”

Provide samples, anything of what you make will do, just so people can see, feel & touch your product. When they see it & get to use it you may win a lifetime customer.
Provide a banner, button & url
When I receive your product I will then add you to the list of contributors & start linking & promoting your shop for 30 days.
Any small sample packaged neatly with your business card attached .
Please consider the fact that this has to travel with other samples which someone put alot of their time in to create so we would like to make sure packaging is secure as we do not want leakage onto someones precious work.
Minimum samples are 25, if you send in 100 samples or more you will get a FREE sampler of that month in which you participate
Full size product donated will be given in a raffle each paying customer will be entered in each month.

Good morning everyone :) Just to let you all know I will be taking Friday & Saturday off this week from the computer because of having hand surgery on my right hand. All the years of typing have finally caught up with me. They will be removing a bone which controls my right thumb & connecting a tendon from my under part of my wrist with a tendon on the top of my hand. They also will be doing carpal tunnel surgery. i will have the stitches removed on the 29th & have a cast put on for 3-4 weeks, then comes the therapy. I will be off work for 12 weeks which will give me a much needed rest. I do hope to start the beginning of 2010 as a "new woman"! The doc says my hand will look better than it does right now....I had thought it already looked pretty good! But in a doctors eyes he can see the flaws/ I have been to 2 surgeons & had many test & have complete faith in God & my doc that this is the right thing to do. I have had much pain since July & can not imagine not fixing the problem. Sewing & crocheting have been put on hold for the moment but I can still peck away at the computer with my left hand. Still haven't figured out how I will shower & shampoo my hair without difficulty, but if that is my only problem for the next few weeks then my life is simple! I welcome any prayers you can offer up to Heaven for me now & I will be back online Sunday!

As soon as the samples arrive to me in the next few days I will begin to post about the shops in the Sampler in October. In the past I have posted prior to the arrival of the samples to my door & then the Artisan does not sometimes send their samples to be in the box. This affects all of us including the customer who has hoped that they would receive a sample from certain shops. I do hope everyone understands that I would love to post prior to the month that the Sampler goes out but too many times without notice people have dropped out without letting anyone know & then it is really the customer who hurts & also if I have had the banner listed already then that could affect their shop sales also. So I am trying to protect all involved, including the person who has changed their mind. I do appreciate all who have taken the time to let me know that they do not wish to or can not participate in certain months..it has been a great help to us. This mmonths Sampler is a bit smaller due to cancellations of participants who are busy with vacations & getting back to school. But I still bring you a nice offering from the ones who have come through. This box contains 7-8 samples & is for the low cost of $8.00 they will be shipped out over the weekend. So if you purchased one with an advance order you can be expecting to receive it by Monday or Tuesday as I always use Priority Mail so it gets to you quickly.

I got the nicest surprise in the mail last week....the above package arrived...I wonder what my mailman & postal clerks on its way through PA thought of the labeling! I had a nice chuckle while opening it! ...(kathleen is about to be exposed) It is nice to get a package & have not only the thought of receiving something for yourself but having the labeling put a smile on your face :) Inside I was truly amazed at how generous the Artisan was...There were 5 FULL size products for me to use & do reviews on! I first tried "awaken" it is an awesome body wash which really does awaken your senses in the shower! with tingling peppermint & tea tree oils, aloe vera, shea butter, vitamin e your skin feels soft & refreshed at the same time! I then applied the body frosting after my shower. It left my skin soft & silky for hours during the day. I put a bit extra on my feet & elbows which tend to get dry...they are still soft as can be...I now need to try the shampoo, conditioner & personal cleansing spray...I will report back another time. Hello Everyone!

August Samples due in from now till August 15

Well it is so hard to believe that summer is on its way out! The weather here in Pennsylvania has not been the best for us this year. I do hope all of you are well & have enjoyed some part of summer fun! I am in the process of updating the business & have changed email marketing companies. If you do not wish to be on the mailing list please let me know by following the directions at the bottom of this newsletter. This month the message goes to both Artisans & Buyers. You are both the very heart of this project I have undertaken this year. I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your continued support for making this a great program. I try my best to get the best products into the hands of the consumer. All of you have given very, very nice offerings. I do hope that it pays off for you. This is a difficult year for both buyers & sellers because of the economy, but we must persevere through the tough economic times so that we can come out on top. I have lots of plans for the upcoming Christmas Season & am very excited about the change in packaging for the Holiday Samplers. I will show a preview when all my supplies have arrived. Look for the pictures in the upcoming Newsletters. Also if you are an Artisan & would like to sign up for the November Sampler which goes on sale November 7th ( your samples need to be in prior to this date) please email me ASAP to reserve your spot. There will be limited quantities of the largest Sampler for this month. I am hoping for 20 Samples in each package. I will still have 3 other versions available if all the packaging is what I am hoping for. I am sure you all will be pleased.If you would like to reserve your Holiday Sampler you will be able to do on the website in October. Payment will be at the time of reserving. Ship date will be November 7. Remember contributors if you send in 100 samples you receive a FREE $12 Sampler. The more samples you send in the more people you touch & have a chance to receive more traffic & buyers at your shops.I have been pleased with how well this program has been going so far & have great ideas for the upcoming year!

Only "1" Original size sampler left for this month! a few more of the smaller ones are still left...The drawing for the June & July Sampler Contributor & Sampler Buyer will be announced in the August Newsletter which goes out this weekend. Since the Sampler will be sold out before July 31 I see no reason to let the contest go on until the 31st. The next Sampler will be on sale August 16 & can be reserved prior to that by purchasing starting August 8 & shipping will be on August 16. Thank you all who have supported the July Sampler by contributing or buying & also for the merchants who are so receptive of the boxes I leave for them at their shops. This month 15 boxes went to the craft fairs to be given away in FREE drawings.
